Twin Lakes State Park / High Bridge Trail State Park

Twin Lakes State Park is in the heart of central Virginia, near Farmville and bout 60 miles southwest of Richmond. Visitors have options of staying overnight in one of the 11 climate controlled cabins or in one of the 33 site campground spots. Activities include fishing, swimming, boating, hiking and lakeside picnicking. There are two lakes on the property; Prince Edward lake is 36 acres, and Goodwin Lake is 15 acres. Located nearby is the High Bridge State Park. The High Bridge trail that runs through the park is 31 miles long and was once a rail bed. The centerpiece to the park is the High Bridge, which spans over 2,400 feet in length and 150 feet above the Appomatox River. It is the longest recreational bridge in Virginia and among the longest in the United States.
